How did you come up with your derby name and/or number? (And what do your teammates call you?)
I go by Desi. I think more people I know call me "Desi" than by my actual name.

What made you decide to try roller derby?
I played hockey and rugby. When I learned about flat track roller derby, I knew I had to play!

How long have you been playing roller derby?
Longer than some skaters have been alive! I started playing in 2005.
Do you have a game day ritual or routine?
Whenever possible, I put on some headphones and use music to channel my game day headspace. I need time to refocus my mind and attention to physical contact.

What is your favorite or least favorite drill/skill at practice and why?
I love endurance and hitting drills; I'm less enthusiastic about footwork drills but I do them because they're important. I just prefer skating fast and hitting things.
